The Mann Public School, Delhi organized its 23rd Annual Day 2011 with great gusto, gaiety and colour as ‘Celebration of Excellence – 2011’ (November 28). General V K Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, Chief of Army Staff, presided over the function. Welcome address and the Annual Report of the school giving a spectrum of its achievement round the year were presented by the Principal Cdr. V K Banga(Retd.).

Principal in its speech highlighted the Board result achievements, where by 56 students scored more than 90% marks and 241 distinctions. He also highlighted the facilities such as Horse riding, swimming pool,  football, flood-lit lawn tennis and all major games are available in the school contributing towards holistic development of the students.

The chief guest hoisted the school flag and took salute at a smartly turned out marchpast – which included Army & Air wing of NCC contingent – commanded by School Captain Rishav Acharya.

The Chief Guest appreciated the “exemplary” development of the school on holistic lines with good emphasis on discipline, coordination of mind and body, and colourful extra co-curricular activities. He also praised the academic achievements of the school in Board Examinations. He showed keen interest and appreciation for the lush green environs and sports activities, specially horse- riding and the performance of the colourful school band.

The chief guest released the annual magazine of the school – “The Mapsian – 2011” on this occasion.

More than 400 students staged a variety programme which included glittering band display, gymnastics, 70 – strong orchestra playing classical and western tunes, thrilling feats of horse riding, and cultural performances.

The Old Students  Association (MANNOSA) honoured long – serving members of the staff with presents. The recipients were Mrs. Manju Rajpal, Mr.Rajender Saini, Mr. Madhukar Priya, Mrs. Sangeeta,  and Messrs Upinder Mukhiya & Manoj Kr. Das.

The chief guest gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions held throughout the year. The covered ‘BK Sood Principal’s Award of Excellence’ for all round best students of the year was won by Master Rishav Acharya and Ms. Ruby. Other Best of the Year awardees were : Master Mueem Hussain – Horse Rider boy, Ms Richa Jain – Horse rider girl, Master Mueem Hussain- Footballer (Keshey Panjwani Trophy), Master Abhishek Chauhan- Gymnast, and Best Sports persons were Master Mueem Hussain and Ms. Geyum Dabi.

Buddha House was declared ‘Flag House of the Year – 2011’.
