House Slogan : “TO PERFORM BEST IN ADVERSITY”

“Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which, in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant”.

In order for light to shine brightly, darkness must be present. In the same context, our house motto says, “To perform best in adversity”. We, the Green Dragon -Dayanandian have implemented this motto as apart and parcel of our lives. We are undeterred by adversities that come in our way and fight until success is achieved. We have proved this by winning numerous trophies and medals, not only in sports, but also in literary and co-curricular activities.

We take pride in the fact that Dayanand House has bagged the highest number of trophies this year, though the Flaghouse Trophy slipped from our group after a cut-throat competition with Buddha House. Asmita Chauhan and Divij Jakhar are individual champions in Lawn Tennis in their respective divisions and helped the House lift the Tennis Trophy. Akash Gupta and Borish Laishram are now individual badminton champions in their respective divisions and the House won the badminton Trophy. Cricketers of the House have brought us laurels by winning the Cricket Trophy, all under guidance of Cricket Captain Divij Jakhar. Several of our cricketers, namely, Dvij Jakhar, Gaurav Malyan, Vipin Choudhary, Himanshu Kinha and Aamir participated in the IPSC Cricket Tournamnet held at Rajkumar College in Gujarat. No less is the performance of our housemates in other co-curricular activities. Diskit Angmo got the second position in Inter House English Debate Competition. She also represented the school to take part in IPSC Debate Competition conducted by Brila Public School, Pilani. Sirunyuthongmee stood first in calligraphy competition and in drawing, got 2nd position, closely followed by Nukar in 3rd position. In Master – 26, our House grabbed the first position and also in Big Brain (GK Quiz), we grabbed the Ist Position yet again with excellent performance of Nitin Dabas , Lovnish Agarwal, Rishab Shah and Shaarang Singh. Over all the House won the English Fortnight – 2010.

Every student who has set foot on the soil of MPS as a Dayanandian will cherish these achievements as it is well known that Herculean efforts, teamwork and active participation with indomitable House spirit are required to reach this stage. In the end, we pledge that we will continue doing what we do to achieve success in the year to come. Because we believe :

“Reach for the Sky because if you should happen to miss it, you will still be among the Stars”.
