Dear Parents,
It is intimated that the Annual Examinations for all classes are scheduled to be held in the month of March 2010. A separate classwise date sheet is being given to the students. However for Class – IX & XI the exams shall be conducted by end February 2010. On declaration of the result of Class IX, the classes for Class - 10th shall commence from 8th March 2010. Accordingly, the Class – 12th shall commence from 8th March’2010.
It is further intimated that the C.B.S.E. has introduced examination reforms and CCE ( Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) in its affiliated school from this academic year (2009 – 2010). The scheme has already been implemented since October 2009 by this school as per the guidelines issued by the CBSE. Under the scheme, Two Formative Assessment & One Summative Assessment need to be done in each term. The two formative assessments have already been done by the school for (Oct. – Mar.) term, however, the summative assessment is to be conducted now. It is also intimated that from the coming academic session (2010 – 2011), the examination reforms and CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) shall be implemented for all the classes, from class – Ist to Xth. Under the scheme the entire academic year is divided into two terms i.e. April to September ( 1st Term) & Oct. – March (2nd Term). Each term will have two Formative Assessments (FAs) and one Summative Assessment (SA). The syllabus and examination question papers will be designed as per the guidelines issued by the CBSE. The guidelines are also available on CBSE website : www.cbse.nic.in.
It is further intimated that your ward may be guided accordingly and you are also requested to contact the teachers regularly so as to obtain the update about your ward’s performance academically and in other areas. It is also intimated that the students will be assessed in Scholastic & Non – Scholastic areas, where, the weightage will be given on the academic performance and as well as in other areas, such as - Work Experience , Art Education , Physical Education, Life Skills, Attitude & values towards teachers, school mates and towards school programmes. The over all assessment and the pass criteria shall be based on the grading system as described by the C.B.S.E. The details of examination and promotion rules are however being given separately in school almanac. You are advised to go through the instruction given in the school almanac and can consult the teachers accordingly. It is further stated that under the new guidelines issued by the C.B.S.E, the students will be assessed compulsorily for Physical & Health Education. It is therefore mentioned that a fixed number of periods per month are being allocated for each class, where the students will be motivated and guided to participate in the sports and games.
Keeping in view this factor, it will be mandatory for all the students to come to the school in the sports dress on fixed days as per school Time Table. The pattern and stuff / material of sports dress as prescribed by the school will only be permitted. During summer time the House T-Shirts and blue shorts will have to be worn by the students ( both boys & girls) and trek suit will be worn during winter time. The shoe pattern for Summer & Winter will be same and as prescribed by the school. The students are allocated either of the house viz. Buddha, Vyas or Dayanand. The parents are requested to extend their co-operation. Please feel free to contact class Incharges to check the details on CCE. The details are also being made available on school website : www.mps.co.in. You can also mail your queries at info@mps.co.in.
